In 2001 Martijn has graduated at the section Systems Engineering of the Technical University Eindhoven (Mechanical Engineering Department). He used simulation to determine the required operators for the production of the DS45 yacht. In 2004 Martijn completed the IPPS (Intelligent Products and Production Systems) post-graduate program at the same section in the field of optimization. In 2005 Martijn started as a Layout Engineer at CSi Industries. He frequently used Flexsim to analyse material handling systems. At Talumis Martijn starts working as a simulation consultant.

ICT & Logistiek fair in Utrecht
December 2006

TALUMIS generated a lot of interest for their simulation solutions at the ICT & Logistiek/Logistica fair in Utrecht. The public was pleasantly surprised to see the many capabilities of the standard Flexsim simulation software. Also the Talumis Warehouse Toolkit, which will be released in the beginning of 2007, drew a lot of attention as a major cost saving tool. This fair held in the home-city of TALUMIS, was also a good opportunity to meet with existing clients and show other new developments for the Flexsim simulation platform; like the port library and the fluid library.

New course room
October 2006

TALUMIS has extended their office space. Besides extra workspace it includes a new course-room. At the basic training in October this course-room has been used for the first time. Having an own course-room gives more flexibility in organizing training and we are planning to intensify our training program.

New employee
May 2006

Marion Pilgrim is working at TALUMIS since May. In 2003 Marion has graduated at the Technical University in Delft, specialization Civil Engineering. During her graduation study, she used simulation to investigate the effects of combining goods to space productivity of a harbor. The results of this simulation study are part of her graduation report “Chain integration as alternative for physical expansion of a harbor”. After her graduation, Marion started working as planner at P&O Ports in Antwerp. At TALUMIS Marion starts working as simulation consultant.

Successful Winter Trial for Lancia Team
March 2006

The Lancia Classic Rally Team has finished the WInter Trial 2006. This years Winter Trial is announced to be the toughest ever. A lot of snow and ice made it difficult for the teams to stay out of trouble. The Lancia team was able to finish every day and compete within the top 10. The end result was an 11th place overall and 2nd in their class.

TALUMIS congrats Henri and Lolke with their perfomance!

TALUMIS supports Lancia Classic Rally Team
January 2006

In a few weeks the Winter Trial 2006 will start again for a winter rally from the Netherlands to Austria. The Winter Trial is for classic cars and the challenge is in navigation and average speed. Within 6 days the more than 30 years old cars will travel 2500 km.

The Lancia Classic Rally Team has prepared a Lancia Fulvia from 1970 for this heavy rally. The team members are Henri Finkers and Lolke Koopmans and this will be their first big historical rally. TALUMIS supports this team and wishes Henri and Lolke all the best on their journey.

Flexsim introduced at CEMAT , Hannover
October 2005

Flexsim Simulation Software was introduced at a large European fair for the first time. The German and Dutch distributors shared a booth and showed Europe the latest developments of Flexsim Simulation Software.

Many people showed interest in the possibilities to optimize their logistics processes. It was largely appreciated that with Flexsim the building of simulation models is made so much easier. The distributors from Germany and the Netherlands were able to build a model in front of interested people within minutes. For many people this was the trigger to take the demo cd of Flexsim home and try it theirselves. If you missed our booth at the fair and you want to receive the demo cd as well, please contact us.

Also the TALUMIS Warehouse Toolkit attracted much interest. Now that the first project with the toolkit has been finished, the advantages become more and more clear. This interest is an extra motivation for us to finish the toolkit within short time.

TALUMIS at CEMAT - Hall 27 Stand E56 / 1
September 2005

Together with Ingenieurbüro für Simulationsdienstleistung Ralf Gruber we present Flexsim simulation software at the CEMAT 2005, Hannover Germany. Please come visit us if you want more information about the possibilities of simulation or about our own library development of the TALUMIS Warehouse Toolkit.

TALUMIS at Warehousing Conference
September 2005

At the 5th conference Warehousing trends and developments in warehouses and distribution centers are discussed. Talumis is present to show what simulation can do to help improve activities within your warehouse. The TALUMIS Warehouse Toolkit will be presented and examples of successful projects are shown.

Introduction of the TALUMIS Warehouse Toolkit
June 2005

The Talumis Warehouse Toolkit is a simulation environment that is used for analyzing and optimizing warehouse processes. In combination with the TALUMIS expertise, the simulation models can be created very fast and accurate.

The toolkit offers a very detailed and attractive 3D visualization of the warehouse and the processes. Therefore bottlenecks can be identified both visually and quantitatively. This will easily convince people of the performance of different concepts.

TALUMIS succesful at WMS day
April 2005

The 10 th edition of the ‘WMS-day’ was held on April 14 th. Everyone interested in IT solutions for warehousing attended the day in Ede ( Netherlands) to find out about new features, technology and the trends in the industry.

People could attend all kinds of presentations and workshops and could gather information at exhibition stands from suppliers and solution providers. TALUMIS presented the possibilities of reducing operational warehousing cost by using simulation. Also the new ‘Talumis Warehouse Toolkit’ was introduced. With this Toolkit, TALUMIS is able to model and analyse warehouse processes in a very short period of time. The combination of TALUMIS and the Toolkit gives opportunities to perform logistics studies in a very short period of time. Examples of such a study are for instance ideas about new pick strategies or a WMS implementation. Participators were also very interested in the possibilities of using simulation to schedule operators efficiently in a dynamic warehouse environment.

The Talumis Warehouse Toolkit allows for a dramatic reduction in modeling time and in the time needed to make an analysis. This makes the investment for a simulation study interesting for smaller projects as well.

In the mean time the first interested people have received extra information. Are you also interested in reducing your operational costs or do you want to receive a Flexsim demo CD, please contact us.
